Rime offers a wide range of services related to the financing of groups and companies, both as a representative of the leading banks in Norway and as an advisor to their customers. We regularly represent Norwegian banks, other national and foreign financial institutions, investments firms and other players within the finance sector.

Loan documentation
Rime has an extensive experience in advising lenders in preparing documentation related to various financing needs, acquisition financing, ship financing, financing of acquisition and development of real estate, and the establishment of overdraft facilities and other operational funding arrangements.

For the borrower we primarily advise in negotiations with banks regarding financing agreements, in order for the agreement to be adapted to the borrower’s organization and activities. We consider the legality of the funding, according to law or in relation to contract. We also assist in establishing the correct corporate resolutions and other documentation required by the lenders.

We wish to be included in the negotiations as early as possible in order to influence on the terms and conditions in the financial services provided. We regularly advise on the preparation of the term sheet or offer of financing, and follow the process until the necessary agreements are signed and the credit is finally established.

We further have extensive experience in the preparation of amendments to loan agreements, syndication agreements and other agreements that may be necessary in the term of the loan.

Security documentation
We prepare security documentation, and regularly advise on establishing the necessary security rights,(mortgage rights, liens and various forms of guarantees).

Defaulted loans, restructurings and bankruptcies
Rime has considerable experience in the handling of bankruptcies. In connection with defaulted loans and other commitments, we connect our insolvency experience with our banking experience. We examine the facts, advise on the strategy for the further handling of the case, and based on this we work to protect the lenders’ interests in the best possible way at the right time. This may involve non-judicial solutions, debt negotiation or preparation for and implementation of bankruptcy proceedings.

Rime provides general assistance related to government regulation of the banking and finance industry.
